Both sustainability and adventure are growing in popularity, but these concepts haven’t always overlapped seamlessly. One major reason has been the lack of electric vehicles capable of remote exploration. But as more and more automakers and aftermarket companies take note, eco-conscious camping is becoming more attainable than ever.
Attending industry events is an excellent way to get an early look at some of the most forward-thinking ideas and solutions in electric mobility and outdoor adventure. Electric Outdoors is proud to be at the forefront of making off-grid camping available for EV drivers, and our team will be attending or showcasing at multiple events throughout 2024.
For early adopters and tech enthusiasts, there are several consumer-focused events taking place across the U.S. this year, featuring the latest in electric vehicles, adventure gear, and off-grid power solutions, as well as test drives and learning sessions.
The following events offer immersive and inspiring experiences, whether you’re looking to discover new vehicles, get inspired by innovative solutions, or make connections with like-minded people. We hope to see you there!

National Drive Electric Week

When: September 27-October 6, 2024
This year marks the 14th annual National Drive Electric Week (NDEW), which features hundreds of EV-focused events across the U.S. NDEW bills itself as a celebration of all things electric mobility, and it allows those who are EV-curious to come and learn more, talk to other EV owners, and test drive vehicles. Sierra Club, one of the event’s presenting sponsors, says that NDEW is important because “it’s part of how we communicate our collective vision for a better transportation future.”

The Detroit Auto Show (also known as the North American International Auto Show, or NAIAS) has been held in September for the past two years, but is being pushed back to January for 2025, meaning it won’t actually take place in 2024. It’s well worth the wait, however, as it’s one of the largest auto shows in North America, highlighting all the latest in electric vehicles. In 2025, the show will include the Powering Michigan EV Experience, an exciting ride-along featuring a number of manufacturers and vehicles.
