Event Recap: 2024 Electrify Expo in Austin

The Electric Outdoors team traveled to Austin, Texas, in November for one of our favorite events of the year: Electrify Expo. This EV-centric festival brings together some of the top electric brands in the country and features vehicle demos, food trucks, live music, and vendors. And this year the Austin event set new records, with more than 26,000 attendees over two days. 

We set up shop in the Outdoor Recreation section of the event, right next to two of our fellow Michigan-based startups: Grounded and Voltaic Marine (did you see our recent announcement on partnering with Voltaic to build off-grid electric boat charging?). In fact, we were interviewed by the Electrify Expo social media team and asked what it meant for us to be at the event, and one of the first things that came to mind was how happy we are to be a part of this Michigan electric mobility startup ecosystem—so many great things happening all across the state!—and having the opportunity to represent it in Austin.    

But our favorite thing about the event was meeting and chatting with so many of you. We had some incredibly interesting conversations with people from all walks of life about the EO Canopy and the future of sustainable camping. One thing that always happens when we get out and talk about our product is that people start thinking about how the EO Canopy can be adapted for their own specific use cases, whether it’s mobile EV charging stations, beachside cabanas, or off-grid campground check-in offices. 

We love hearing about these use cases, because they’re often niche scenarios that we haven’t considered. And, since we’ve built our product to be modular and customizable, when we’re asked if a specific configuration is possible, we’re almost always able to respond with, “Yes, we can definitely do that!”

Beyond chatting with eventgoers and connecting with other brands in the electric mobility space, we were also able to sneak away for some test drives. Electrify Expo Austin was held at the Circuit of the Americas, and we could not pass up the chance to drive a brand new EV on the legendary F1 racetrack. 

Electrify Expo is a touring event open to the public. In 2025, it’s coming to Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Dallas, Chicago, Orlando, and New York. 

Thank you to the EE team for having us, and we’re looking forward to showcasing again next year. Our first event in 2025 will be CES in Las Vegas, January 7 to 10—we hope to see you there!
